Did You Know?

The Dover Legion was chartered 1919 and has been operating continuously in Dover ever since. Our event space upstairs regularly hosts charity, graduation, birthday and fundraising events for up to 200 people. Our members contribute time, materials and money in service of several charitable and community service efforts including:

• Annual College scholarships for Dover-Sherborn students
• Annual Memorial Day Parade, cemetery ceremony and cookout
• Annual “Dover Music Fest” event
• Support of many community-based and local organizations: DS Boosters, Dover Foundation, Dover Library, Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, Dover-Sherborn Youth Soccer, Westwood PTO.
• Annual Seniors Holiday Dinner
• Support childrens charities: “Toys-For-Tots“, “Michael Carter Lisnow Respite Center”, “American Foundation for Suicide Prevention”
• Support Veteran’s charities: “Team Red White & Blue”, “Run to Home Base” and “Adopt-A-Vet”
• Provide public service hours for high school students & Boy Scouts
• Support for annual “Dover Days” event
• Donations of Christmas trees for families in need.

Funding for these activities comes from the operation of the downstairs guest lounge, hall rental fees, our annual Christmas tree sale, support from several generous sponsors and from member and booster dues.

As a member you’ll have access to our downstairs lounge and the ability to sign in guests. Also, members receive discounts on our hall rental.
