Founded in 1932, Sons of The American Legion exists to honor the service and sacrifice of Legionnaires.

SAL members include males of all ages whose mother, father, or grandparent served in the U.S. military and were eligible for American Legion membership. Although Sons has its own membership, the organization is not a separate entity. Rather, SAL is a program of The American Legion and each SAL Squadron is affiliated with a “parent” Legion Post.

The Dover SAL Squadron 209 was recently established in 2012 and like all other SAL squadrons, exists to support and serve the local Post. We work closely with the Dover Legion Post 209 Executive Committee on various projects and events to help meet the organization’s civic, charitable, and logistical mission needs.

Although we have elected officers and committee chairmen our numbers are small and our mission is big. We would like to encourage those men, whether current boosters or not, who wish to participate, and who meet the membership criteria, to join our ranks and more vigorously and visibly support the Dover Legion.

If interested, please have a chat with one of our current members to learn more.
